day of ashura

salam aleikom

the saudi mufti annonced yesterday that the 10 of ashura falls tuesday, why they changed the previous date so latter?

I don't know the fiqh behind it, but what seems fact to me is that MSN told us that Awliya had delayed hajj one day, to make the arafah day fall on saturday instead of friday and he also showed us calcuations showing that hajj actually on friday, so what i think is as the new year has begun, the day that Awliya forwarded one day had to be balanced with moving the date one day earlier, this is what the arabs just did, now everything is balanced, the day that was delayed by one day has now been moved backward one day. Hope that makes sense :)
