Permalink Reply by Awase Bashir on June 25, 2010 at 3:05pm The answer is actually dependent on which Madhab the person follows, as if one is Maliki then there is no problem with keeping a dog, as Imam malik stated that they were not najis. His reasoning being that should one be able to eat an animal caught by them when used for hunting, how then could we turn round and say they were impure?
