The Haqqani Fellowship

My Sufi Journey Begins .....

My parents were also from Sufi background. We used to have zikr every thursday at my parents home. I was very young and I was not involved as my parents were devoted. Because of the background which initiated me into this Sufi Tarika.

For a year, I was reading The Naqshabandi Sufi Tradition Guidebook every now and then. I have also attended to a few zikr gathering with full of confusions and questions in the back of my mind. Specially, I noticed that Sultanul Awliyah Mawlana Shaykh Nazim's and Mawlana Shaykh Hisham's pictures framed in mureed's house.

It was towards the end of December, 2007. I decided to meet Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani and Sister Hajjah Naziha. Also, I planned to take bayyah when I am there if Allah's will. I called my cousin at San Francisco to let him know that to keep the coming weekend open for me. I needed to stay at their house for the weekend, and also I needed a ride to Mawlana's house and Masjid.

I went to Mawlana's house at San Francisco. Sister Hajjah Naziha opened the door, and gave me a welcome hug as if I have known Her for long. I was very nervous at first. But Her love and wonderful welcome greetings made me feel very comfortable. There were other women too. A little after, a beautiful girl entered to the living room carrying a big silver serving tray with juice, cake and tea. Tea was served in a beautiful China tea-sets, silver flatwares, and juice was in crystal glass. So as cake was served in china desert serving plates seperately....

My Test , was a Niyyamah with full of Baraka .....

The cake that I ate it was heavenly. I have never tasted a cake in my life that was so delicious. I asked Sister Hajjah, " What kind of cake was that"? She told me that it was from her refrigerator, kept for seven days. All the ladies including myself gave a very shocking look at Sister Hajjah. Bythen we were done eating the cake. It was a niyamah, it was s.....o.... delicious......

The beautiful girl who served the tea for us. Sister Hajjah was telling us, the girl reminded Her about the cake which was kept in the refrigerator for seven days. Should she serve the cake. Sister Hajjah told her , " it should be okay ".

That evening I went to the Masjid to take bayyah. In the masjid my eyes were filled with tears, it was rolling down my cheeks. It would not stop. It was a feeling that I don't know how to explain....

At first, the baraka of the 'delicious cake', then my tears. In the next morning, I stopped by to say goodbye to Sister Hajjah and to Mawlana Shaykh Hisham. I was crying so much and I did not know why? Which made Her cry too.

Blessed Love -----

She went to the kitchen and brought me another surprise. She took a sweet ( which is called 'ladoo' in my country, indian sub-continent) out of the box, I have requested Her to make dua for me on the sweet when She offered me to eat. I asked Sister Nazihe how did She know it was my favorite sweet from my country. You can only find in Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi stores.

She said " Next time when I see you, I will see you happy". She handed to me a gift, a book named "Heavenly Food", which is written by Sister Hajjah Naziha.

I was so lost that when I was walking away from Her I kepting thinking in my mind how in the world She is going to see me happy next time. No......... way........., how ???

But, it is so true, with Allah's mercy and Her precious dua; She saw me second time happy ... :).....

MashaAllah, thank you for being so generous in sharing your personal experiences. Indeed Allah works in wondrous ways. I am very happy for you Sister Nasreen! This story has triggered a desire in me to meet Sister Hajjah Nazihe someday InshaAllah. So now I know the blessed couple used to live in San Francisco - a beautiful city I used to frequent in the early 90s. That book on 'Heavenly Food' sounds intriguing, could you share a little bit more on that please.
And I must say that it is a great wonder that Hajjah Nazihe cried with you while you yourself couldn't ascertain the feelings that moved you to tears. That speaks a lot about the degree of compassion Sis Nazihe had for you. I can imagine how loving a person she is.
Thank you also for sharing the goings-on in Michigan last weekend, the wedding, sohbet etc. I just wished someone will post some photos from the event.
May Allah continue to bless you with a lot more beautiful moments with our dear Shaykh and his beloved family.
I look forward to reading more stories from you InshaAllah and until then, love and hugs from me. Wassalamualaikum warahmatullah.

It is very exciting to see them personally... They just visited us in Jakarta October - November. I think it was for 2 weeks. But, we cannot get near to them. One night when there was an event in one of university in Jakarta, I can reach and kiss Hajjah Nazihe's hand. And after the event is done, I got in the line with some of people who want to kiss Maulana Sheikh Hisham's hand but there was so many people who guard him. And it made my little daughter start to cry. And Maulana saw it and then give his hand to my daughter and touch her head and mine........
I wish I could visit them someday..Insha Allah

Asalamalaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
My parents are also from a sufi background and I have never seen both without a tasbeeh, always doing zikr.It is very true that miracal do happen. When Mawlana Sheikh Hashim Kabbani had visited us in Nairobi Kenya and had gone to the Pangani mosque to give a lecture, we were very fortunate to attend it. All the ladies after food was served, gathered near the door to have a glimpse of Mawlana and Alhamdullillah we were amongst the fortunate.

After that, I called the lady whose house Mawlana Sheikh Hashim was staying, unfortunately she informed me that he had a very tight schedule and will not be able to see us. I was so disappointed, but made a niyyah, that "Allah Karim if he is your true awliyah and walliullah, and he has come a long way to Kenya Africa, please grant us his didar." My sister was really upset at this and kept on telling me to take her to that lady's house where mawlana was staying. I told her that Mawlana had a tight schedule, he was visiting the prime minister and the next day he was travelling to Lamu for a Maullid where we read later that a miracle took place, with the prayers of Mawlana Nazim and Mawlana Hashim Alhamdulilah, Allah Karim saved the life a young boy who nearly died with the airplanes propellers.. It was a very big Miracle that he survived.

On the last day of Mawlana Hashims stay my sister inlaw who is not in contact with me, just out in the blue called me, although I was surprised that why she called me. She informed that I was invited with my family to attend the lecture of Mawlana at her house before he leaves for the USA. I was shocked and out of words...BUT was over whelmed that Allah Ghafor-rahim had listened to my dua and my sisters pleas.

We went to my sister inlaws house, and waited patiently for 4hours before Mawlana arrived. We got his blessings and tawees before his departure.

And believe it or not, our prayer were answered within a week of his blessing ALHAMDULLILAH!! My sister's and my passport were stuck at the immigration and Jazakallah with our niyyah on meeting Mawlana and his prayers and blessings we got them after 2 years of stuggling.

Miracles are there its just that we do'nt see and some don'nt beleive, but the miracles are there!

Now our niyah is to see and meet our sister Hajjah Naziha and Mawlana Sheikh Nazim Alhaqqani Inshallah! May Allah Karim bestow health and happiness to all the Haqqani group for helping and guiding us in this generation of ignorance. Ameen.
Jazakallah....
