Assalamu Alaikum,


IN YOU I TAKE MY PLACE

Oh, it is Nighttime now, and I am looking for you, Oh my Beloved
They have told me that you have gone away
My senses are reeling and I am feeling nauseated
My affliction knows no bounds and neither do I feel night or day

My Love, My Life, My Light, My Desire
Created a longing in me and has set me ablaze
I am burning in separation, with scorching love I am on fire
Burn and vanquish me, and in you I'll make my eternal place

What madness is this to think that perchance, I can escape now
With your beauty and you have shattered my peace and left me desolate
Unless you hold me close and give me eternally your endless love
This unquenchable thirst won't be satiated with all the rivers or
compensate

I am Majnun longing for my sweet Love
The pious are making prayers in the masjid
And in search for my love in my drunkenness
I have walked across their prayer mats and disturbed salat
How I wish they were intoxicated as me for my Beloved
And did focus on Allah as I did on you my Love
That would have revealed to them the secret of sacredness
And would have rent asunder the Veils of Reality with Love
Is it not better to break the Temple and Masjid
Than to fault one having surrendered his Heart to Love
