Junayd Al-Baghadadi (q.s)

Junayd Al-Baghadadi (q.s) was saying, ‘I was a doorkeeper. For forty years, I never open the door to that sheytan. He continuously knocked on the door non-stop. I never open the door to him. I open the door to the right ones; I never open the door to sheytan. But he never gave up. He continues knocking on the door.’

What door was he talking about?

He said,‘This heart. I don’t open the door to sheytan, not even one time.’

And sheytan entered into human form and came to fool him. Twenty years, sheytan became a murid to Junayd Al-Baghdadi. And twenty years, Junayd Al-Baghdadi was telling him to do this and do that, go here, go there, just like a murid.

Twenty years later, even sheytan lost his patience and he said to him, ‘O my Master. Do you know who I am?’

He looked at him saying, ‘Don’t I know? You are sheytan.’

‘You mean you know this. How long?’

‘From the day that you came.’

‘From the day that I came, and you have been treating me so good. You fool me.’

He said, ‘Yes.’

Sheytan said to him, ‘You are such a good saint. I have never seen anybody like you. You are in such a high station.’

Junayd al-Baghdadi who had been so patient with sheytan for twenty years, he got so angry to him saying, ‘Now get lost from here, you Devil! Never come here again!’

Sheytan said, ‘this I don’t understand at all. For twenty years he didn’t get upset. Now he got upset to me?’

He said, ‘you sneaky, sleek sheytan. Twenty years you couldn’t fool me. Now you are going to fool me in twenty seconds? You are going to say, O you are such a great high saint. You are such a good one. And you are waiting for me to say yes. And to make me to fit into that sickness. Don’t you think that I don’t know who I am. Get Lost from Here!!!’

This is to me and to you. Sheytan is definitely very clever . Hold on tightly to the rope of Allah and do not separate and stay as of jamaat or sheytan is going to knock you down.

So wake up. Understand your enemy and to live according to that. Otherwise, don’t forget, Jannat is haqq and Jahannam is haqq.
